GLADSTONE — The regular meeting of the Gladstone City Commission tonight will include the review of a city manager contract, critique of the city’s off-road vehicle ordinance, discussion of vacant properties and other items of business. Body recovered in Straits of Mackinac

ST. IGNACE — The body of the individual who was the focus of search and recovery efforts in the Straits of Mackinac recently has been recovered, according to the Michigan State Police. MSP Eighth District public information officer, Lt. Benjamin Eckola, said the body was recovered at about 6 p.m. Friday. Eckola said at about 12:35 a.m. on Thursday, troopers from the state police post in St. Ignace responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on the Mackinac Bridge.
