LWV annual meeting planned
MARQUETTE — The League of Women Voters of Marquette County hosts its annual meeting and social hour from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, upstairs at the Ore Dock Brewing Co., 114 W. Spring St., in Marquette. The business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the announcing award recipients. At 7:15 p.m., pizza, sweets and social time is scheduled. There will be opportunities to meet LWV members and learn more about league activities and volunteer opportunities. Enjoy food, music, & door prizes. Community members are invited to attend.
Negaunee Elks, KCs, NHS golf team stage pasty sales
NEGAUNEE — THE Negaunee Elks Lodge #1116 held a pasty sale on April 11 and partnered with the Negaunee Knight of Columbus. The knights members sold 410 pasties. The KCs helped Elks make and distribute the pasties. They were awarded $822.50 for their participation. These funds will be used by the Knight of Columbus for their local charity programs. Also, during the sale, $90 of Beacon Grant funds were used to make $350 worth of pasty meals for Saint Vincent De Paul’s. St. Vincents gave 50 meals to those in need of food in our community.
