MARQUETTE — Average gasoline prices in Michigan have fallen 18.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.97/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 4,913 stations in Michigan. Prices in Michigan are 69.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 70.8 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has decreased 19.2 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $4.990 per gallon. Columbaria installed in Ishpeming

ISHPEMING — The city of Ishpeming installed by crane, two, 48-niche columbaria into the St. Joseph Cemetery. The units weigh approximately 16,000 pounds each and were trucked in from Canada where the granite is quarried and processed. Menominee Granite Company handled the ordering and installation of the units at 1889 Prairie Ave., Ishpeming. This is units number 5 and 6 at this cemetery. 30 years ago MARQUETTE — Although fewer high school students dropped out in the 1994-95 school year than the previous year statewide, most Superiorland schools reported dropout rates that were a fraction of the state average. Statewide, the dropout rate for the year fell to 5.2 percent from 6.6 percent the year before, according to Education Department analysis.
