EDITOR’S NOTE: Superiorland Yesterdays is prepared by the reference desk staff at Peter White Public Library. 30 years MARQUETTE — Researchers are trying to slow the spread of the gypsy moth in the Upper Peninsula by setting traps for the males. The Gypsy Moth ‘Slow the Spread’ project is underway in the UP, Virginia, and North Carolina. Green triangular cardboard traps have been set in a 20-mile-wide area that runs from Munising, to Escanaba and Manistique.
