‘Wonder Woman’ to be screened

MARQUETTE — At 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Peter White Public Library will show the 2017 film “Wonder Woman” in the library’s community room as part of its Matinee Movie series.

Bring a lunch and enjoy the movie in a dinner theater setting. Closed captioning will be on to ensure access for all.

When a World War II pilot crashes on her island paradise, Diana, princess of the Amazons, leaves her home to stop war from destroying her world. Working alongside army pilot Steve Trevor, she will realize her true powers and confront her arch enemy, Ares. Starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Robin Wright, this fantasy adventure is rated PG-13 and runs 2 hours 21 minutes.

PWPL to show ‘Home Alone’

MARQUETTE — Get in the holiday spirit with the modern classic “Home Alone” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21 in the Peter White Public Library’s community room.

Released in 1990, this family comedy is directed by Chris Columbus. When 8-year-old Kevin is accidentally left alone while his family goes on a Christmas vacation, he must protect himself and his home from burglars. Starring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, this movie is rated PG and runs 1 hour 43 minutes.

NAMI offers services, meetings

MARQUETTE — The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Alger/Marquette offers confidential support groups and educational meetings for individuals living with mental illness, and friends or families living with an individual with mental illness.
