Legion fish fry set for Friday

MARQUETTE — The American Legion, located at 700 W. Bluff St., Marquette, will offer a fish fry from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday. Entrees will include white fish, cod, shrimp or chicken strips. There will be a choice of baked potato or french fries and all meals include coleslaw. Begin calling 906-225-0781 for take out at 3:30 p.m. and for pick up beginning at 4:30 p.m. This meal is open to the public.

Fatal snowmobile crash investigated by MSP

MUNISING — At approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday, troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee post responded to a report of a snowmobile crash on Trail 8 near H-58 in Shingleton Township in Alger County. According to a state police news release, the preliminary investigation found the snowmobile was traveling on Trail 8 when the driver was unable to negotiate a corner on the trail and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.
