Laughing Whitefish Bird Alliance session set
MARQUETTE — The Laughing Whitefish Bird Alliance will host its next program at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette. A short overview of Seney Refuge will be presented by 15-year veteran Seney National Park Ranger, Jennifer Wycoff. The Jeopardy game will follow, hosted by Steve Waller, a Marquette area naturalist, environmental educator and Loonapalooza game creator.
The Seney National Wildlife Refuge is our neighboring 95,212-acre refuge in Schoolcraft County near the town of Seney. The refuge contains the Seney Wilderness Area, the Strangmoor Bog National Natural Landmark and the famous Whitefish Point Bird Observatory.
This past August, Steve Waller created a Seney Loonapalooza Jeopardy game for Seney’s 90th Anniversary Loonapalooza celebration. The game is packed with fascinating information about Seney loons, loon banding, and 25 years of research by Damon McCormick, Joe Kaplan and Dani Fegan of Common Coast Research and Conservation.
