NEGAUNEE – “Math Takes a New Path” is the title of a film on modern mathematics to be shown at the first meeting of the current school year of the Lakeview Parent-Teachers Association. It is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18th in the Lakeview multi-purpose room. Modern math is being taught to children in the local school system starting at the kindergarten level this year, and the PTA officials believe the film will be entertaining and helpful to parents in assisting their children. Following the film, Supt. Robert E. Northey and instructor, Fred Benzie, will be available to answer questions. The musical portion of the program will consist of piano selections by Marlys Anderson. Refreshments will be served by parents of students in Mrs. Elaine Bollero’s and Mrs. Dorothy Sivula’s first grade classes.
