Peak gymnasts qualify for Michigan Kickstart team camp

These 11 gymnasts from Peak Gymnastics & Fitness in Marquette qualified for the Michigan Kickstart team and were invited to a September weekend camp in Ann Arbor. In June, the girls were tested on their strength and flexibility and all made the top 10 in their age groups. At the camp, they worked with top coaches in the nation including Team USA coach Christian Gallardo, who has worked with Olympian Gabby Douglas. By Journal Sports StaffMARQUETTE - The Tri Media Under-12 Pee Wee AA travel hockey team of Marquette Junior Hockey won a tournament held in Traverse City recently.Coach Mike L'Huillier's charges defeated the Traverse City North Stars 2-0 in the championship to capture the title and improve to 11-0 this season. Drew Dellies and Owen Riipi scored for Tri Media, while Liam Beerman made 21 saves in the shutout.Earlier, Marquette needed a shootout to defeat the Troy Sting 2-1 in the semifinals. Peak lifters set personal records

By Journal Sports StaffMARQUETTE - Peak Gymnastics & Fitness athletes competed at the Mid American Weightlifting Championships on Oct. 22 in Schaumburg, Illinois.Hailey Bell won her weight class, getting personal records on both her lifts.Sarah Swanson was runner-up in her weight class also getting meet PRs.Morgan Harvala won her weight class, got a meet PR in snatch and total.
