Redettes win Petoskey Invite
Marquette girls defeat Manton Friday, Brighton Saturday to win title

PETOSKEY — The Marquette Redettes basketball team won the Petoskey Invitational Saturday with a 39-38 win over Brighton. Marquette defeated Manton 54-34 on Friday.
Amber Huebner was named tournament MVP. Chloe and Claudia Hale were also named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Redettes held a 17-16 lead over Brighton at the half, but Brighton pulled away in the third as it held a five-point lead after the third quarter. However, Marquette rallied in the fourth to win the title. Huebner led the Redettes with 15 points.
On Friday, Marquette rolled from the opening tip as they were up 17-2 after the first quarter. The Redettes remained in control for the rest of the game and cruised to the win. Huebner led a balanced Redettes scoring attack with 12 points.
Marquette travels to Gladstone Tuesday.
