Upper Peninsula Football All-Star Game week opens on Monday

MARQUETTE — The Upper Peninsula Football All-Star Game kicked off its week of preparation on Monday as 77 recent high school seniors and 14 coaches from around the U.P. converged on Northern Michigan University in Marquette.

Players and coaches collected for a food drive for the St. Vincent de Paul pantry while checking in.

Later in the day, the Red and Black teams each held a pair of practices, including in the Superior Dome, which was a first even working out on artificial turf for a number of players.
