Academics on ice: 15 Northern Michigan University Wildcats hockey players earn CCHA recognition for work in the classroom

MARQUETTE — Fifteen Northern Michigan University hockey players have been named to the CCHA’s All-Academic Team for the 2022-23 school year, the league announced Monday.

All of these student-athletes have grade-point averages of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.

In addition, 10 of the 15 Wildcats honored earned an additional CCHA Scholar-Athlete recognition for achieving a GPA of 3.50 or better.

League-wide among the CCHA’s eight schools, 135 players earned the All-Academic honors that included 71 on the Scholar-Athlete Team. Each school had between 12 and 20 earning All-Academic, with as many as 14 at a single school also attaining Scholar-Athlete.
