MARQUETTE — Five skaters from the Marquette Figure Skating Club were first-place winners and another was a finalist during the 27th annual Fox Cities Invitational in Appleton, Wisconsin, from Feb. 3-5.

Three of the winners actually had two victories apiece — Liv Johnson in High Beginner Spins and Beginner Entertainment Artistic, Samantha Heikkila in Pre Preliminary Compulsory and Pre Preliminary Freeskate, and Jasmine Burke in Pre Juvenile Freeskate and Silver Solo Pattern Dance.

In addition, Sydney Rehmann was first in Bronze Solo Pattern Dance, Cassie Davis had first place in Beginner Freeskate and Emily Helgren was a finalist in Artistic Recall.

The club, coached by Jamie Wiegold, Chris Gauthier and Shirra Sinnaeve, will host the Ron Carlson Marquette International Open on Friday and Saturday at Northern Michigan University’s Berry Events Center.
