Vote No on Proposal 3

To the Journal editor:

Michigan is standing at a crossroads, and never before have the moral, legal, and ethical stakes been higher. I am speaking of Proposal 3, the so called “Reproductive Freedom for All” constitutional amendment that will be on the ballot this coming November.

Proposal 3 seeks to amend the Constitution of our state to include a so called “right to abortion” which will radically change the orientation of our state into an almost “anything goes” agenda.

Abortions would be legalized through all nine months of pregnancy. Premature babies with health problems could legally be denied “extraordinary health care” (which would open the door legally to infanticide). Taxpayers will be forced to pay for Michigan abortions.

Abortions based on gender, race, or disability would become protected. Parents would be prohibited from having a role in decisions re: abortion made by their minor children.

These measures are only the beginning.

The language of Proposition 3 is purposefully vague, and although some of these extreme measures may not be stated openly, it’s not hard to see through the intentions of the radically pro-abortion activists who are trying to foist this amendment on the voters of Michigan.

This is a blueprint on how they force brazenly permissive laws onto the public.

I urge all Michigan voters to stand for our values, to cherish life, and to say a resounding “No” to Proposition 3!

Sincerely,

STUART W. BRUCE
