Time to invoke 25th Amendment
To the Journal editor:
I understand party loyalty. My parents, aunts and uncles were lifelong Republicans. Many times, I have held my nose and voted straight Democratic even when I had no great love for any of the candidates.
However, we as a nation have to come to terms with the fact that our president has lost his mind. Imagine if your uncle or grandfather often lost his train of thought, had frequent, angry, expletive-loaded outbursts and then posted an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus Christ healing the sick. I bet you would take him to the doctor and maybe quietly remove all firearms from his house. The family would discuss if he was safe to drive a car.
The 25th Amendment to our Constitution states the process of removing a president who is not capable of performing the duties of his office. It just takes officials with the courage and conscience to do so.
Sincerely,
