Supporting Maddox-Smith
To the Journal editor:
I have personally known Cherryl for 30 years. We met working in ICU at Marquette General Hospital, where we worked together for 20 years.
Her amazing grace under fire and intelligence were immediately distinguishing to me. Together we saw a lot of death and despair but also life and happiness.
Through all of this she remained steadfast to her patients, their family members and her coworkers. Similarly, I can see her making an excellent choice for school board as she uses her past experiences and critical thinking skills to problem solve.
She is a fair person and hears both sides of an issue — often forcing me to consider other views. She earned her RN degree while being a single mom.
Her daughter went through the Marquette Area Public School district from kindergarten through 12th grade and now she has a wonderful grandchild who will be enrolled in MAPS.
Cherryl is also a Yooper, who grew up in Manistique and moved to Marquette to attend Northern Michigan University.
Vote Cherryl Maddox-Smith in November!
