Eventually the family moved to K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Gwinn, where Bonnie taught at Wells School until 1991. The couple later relocated to Texas, where she continued her work in education as a substitute teacher. In 1997, Bonnie and Richard returned to Gwinn, where she retired and enjoyed the years surrounded by family and friends.
