Alberta Boroughf

MARQUETTE, MI-Alberta Mae Boroughf, 92 of Gladstone passed away Wednesday June 18, 2025 surrounded by family at UP Health Systems in Marquette.
Alberta Mae DePas was born on May 17, 1933 in Wilson, MI to Eligher and Mildred (Routheaux) DePas. She was a 1950 graduate of Powers High School. Alberta attended Northern Michigan University where she earned her LPN in nursing in 1967, recording the highest test score ever. She worked for over 30 years in the NICU with premature babies at Marquette General Hospital retiring in 1997. Alberta later worked with the Community Action Agency for 2 years and the Family Independent Agency for 12 years. She was a member of the Wilson Seventh Day Adventist Church. Alberta was an avid gardener who loved tending her flower and vegetable gardens.
Survivors include her 4 daughters: Marcia Mills of Mexico, MO, Jeanne’ McCoy of St. Louis, MI, Charlene (Russ) Lehmann of Columbia, MO and Paula Burmeister of Colorado Springs, CO; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister: Inez Schmidt of Westboro, WI; and sister-in-law: Ione DePas of Green Bay, WI.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents: Eligher and Mildred; sister: Loretta Schoebel; and 3 brothers: Melvin, Clarence and Harvey.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Alberta Boroughf will be held on Monday July 7, 2025 at 11:00 EST at the Wilson Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Tony Ludwig officiating. A luncheon will follow the Memorial Service with burial in the church cemetery following the luncheon. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, MI is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Great Lakes Adventist Academy Worthy Student Fund, Cedar Lake, MI.
