WEST BEND, WI – Daniel C. McMahon, age 77, of West Bend died peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, March 8, 2020.

He was born July 18, 1942, in Marquette, MI, to Walter and Marion McMahon. On July 22, 1967, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Dwyer, at St. Michael’s Church, in Marquette.

Dan proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1960 until 1967 and spent much of his time on submarines. Following his discharge he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Michigan University.

Dan’s love of his family was evident to all who knew him. He was extremely involved in his kids’ lives and enjoyed teaching them and supporting them no matter what they were doing. As his children got older he was blessed with the joy of being a grandpa. He cherished and adored his grandkids and would often allow them to get away with things that his children could not.

Dan founded McMahon and Company in 1996 and proudly welcomed his family into the business in 2005.

Dan is survived by his wife of 52 years; Kathy, 4 children; Sean (Jeannine) McMahon of West Bend, Patrick (Jennifer) McMahon of Fond du Lac, Kimberly (Eric) Mather of West Bend and Colleen (Robert) Hasse of Kewaskum and 6 grandchildren; Brady and Ryon McMahon, Molly and Colin McMahon and Cormac “Mac” and Easton Jay “EJ” Hasse. He is further survived by his brother; Michael (JoAnn) McMahon, sister; Mary Kay (David) Glass, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Marion and 3 brothers; Donald, Robert and Patrick.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the care and support Dr. Gary Herdrich and his entire staff provided throughout the years. Dan’s family would also like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Harirajan Mani and the ICU nursing staff at Froedtert West Bend Campus for their loving care and assistance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 13, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, in West Bend with Rev. Howard Haase presiding.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the church only from 2:30 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children or to the American Legion Post 486 Jackson, WI are appreciated.
