Cynthia Novak Herzog

Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Dennis Herzog M.D.; her daughters; Erin (Jeffrey) Gottleber, Heidi Herzog, and Bridget (Jeramie) Wilson, her grandchildren; Ethan, Alexander and Eva Gottleber, and Noah Wilson, her siblings; Richard Novak, Jeffrey Novak, Thomas (Kerry) Novak, Mary Patricia (Robert) Kennedy, Matthew (Kathleen) Novak, brother-in-law; Wayne (Jo) Herzog, sister-in-law; Cindy (Thomas) Fry, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Richard Novak.

For years, Cindy was an active member of St. Peter’s Cathedral in Marquette, where she taught RCIA and welcomed many people into the Catholic faith. She participated in several holy retreats and pilgrimages including visits to Italy, Toronto, Detroit and Steubenville.

Cindy enjoyed exploring the outdoors with her family where they would search for waterfalls, pick wild berries, and hike the many trails of the Upper Peninsula. She loved to express her artistic abilities through gardening, cooking, and music.

The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Church 2222 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, 49504.

Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Holy Spirit Church from Friday 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
