Alma Marie (Fassbender) Cook
MARQUETTE, MI – Alma Marie (Fassbender) Cook, age 89, formerly of Marquette, entered eternal life January 18, 2019, in Madison, Indiana.
Born September 16, 1929, in Marquette, a daughter of Anton and Mary Fassbender, Alma was raised in Marquette and graduated from Northern Michigan College (now NMU) in 1951. For many years, Alma and husband, Joseph Cook, resided in Grosse Pointe Woods. She was a retired music teacher.
Survivors include a son, Daniel (Melody) Cook; grandsons, Randy (Patty) Cook and Russel (Jannel) Cook, great-grandsons, Kaleb, Liam and Konner; nieces, Mary Parker, Diane (Pete) Zirhnelt, and Susan Dixon; a nephew, Matt (Pam) O’Donnell; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; lifelong friends, June Beltrame Rydholm and Harriet Klumb Varville.
In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph; a son, Michael Cook; sisters, Martha Dixon and Lucille O’Donnell; and a nephew, Bob Dixon.
Graveside committal services will be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery on Wednesday, July 10, at 1:30 pm with Rev. Greg Heikkala officiating.
