MUNISING, MI – Virginia “Gina” (Dale) Macurio, age 76, of Munising, died on Sunday afternoon, September 9, 2018 at U.P Health System Marquette.

She was born on April 25, 1942 in Munising to Arthur “Art” and Katherine “Kate” (Twork) Dale. Gina graduated from Sacred Heart School and then Wm. G. Mather High School in 1960. She went to work at Kimberly Clark as a data processor in the office. On October 15, 1966, Gina married John “Sam” Macurio and they moved to Galesburg, Michigan where she worked as a data processor for Buck Tool Company. Gina and Sam returned to Munising and she returned back to Kimberly Clark and retired in 1999 as the Statistical and Lead Data Entry Clerk. Gina was talented with a crochet hook and was an expert in making table cloths. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, and would always make “one more” to be sure she had enough. On a pheasant hunting trip with Sam, she enjoyed watching the dogs work. Gina loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own children.

Gina is survived by her husband – Sam Macurio of Munising; sisters – Delores Parker of Marquette and Dorothy (Charlie) Vartti of Wetmore; brothers – Jim Dale of Wetmore and Bill (Pat) Dale of Munising; numerous loved nieces and nephews; brother-in-law – Barry Macurio; and very good friends – Joe and D’Linda Wallace.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Art and Kate Dale; sisters – Katherine (Bob) Belmore, Gerry Dale, Florence Dale, Carol (Jack) Gatiss, infant sister Threse Dale; sister-in-law Sandy Dale; brother-in-law – Mel Parker; and parents-in- law Eluialy and John Macurio.

Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Father Jeff Johnson will conduct Gina’s funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising. She will be escorted by Billy Gatiss, Brian, Dean, Katie, and Krysta Parker, and Joe Wallace. Memorials in Gina’s name may be made to the Eric Beverly Family Foundation.
