Carole Hill

MUNISING, MI – Carole Jean Hill, age 77, of Munising, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her home surrounded by and under the loving care of her family and North Woods Home Hospice.

She was born on October 9, 1940 in Munising to Francis “Frank” and Margaret (Schierschmidt) Heyrman, Sr. Carole graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1958.

On June 27, 1959, she married Richard R. Hill and together they raised their four children. Carole enjoyed gardening, camping, canning, baking, making wine, riding four wheelers or side by sides, and being with family. She loved to share her wine with friends and cooked the best fried chicken and mashed potatoes.

Carole also enjoyed the laughs had on camping trips with the Steinhoff, Burke, and Hill families at Cusino Lake where friends and family would come to visit, eat, and play. She was master at the dice game Aggravation, and would challenge and most times beat anyone. Carole was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and GiGi, and she cared for her family with unconditional love and support.

Carole is survived by her husband – Richard Hill of Munising; children – David Hill of Shingleton, Thomas (Chom) Hill of Shingleton, Bryan (Kathy) Hill of Munising, and Lori (Eugene) Walsh of Munising; grandchildren – Brent (Carrie) Hill, Brad (Megan) Hill, Michael Hill, Matthew (Sarah) Hill, Angela Hill, Amy (Beau) Peterson, Ashley (Curtis) Crumpton, Lynsey (Brad) Landis, Samantha Walsh, and Ricky Walsh; great-grandchildren – Carter, Ethan, Shaun, Makayla, Makenzie, Ellie, Chloe, Eli, Logan, and baby Alexa Jean on the way; and many siblings, nieces and nephews.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marianne Heyrman, and beloved black lab Molly Lynn.

Friends and family may join Carole’s family at her home on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. for fellowship and remembrances.
