Dale was born April 19, 1944 in Ishpeming the son of the late Paul and Florence (Nault) Fredette. He was a lifelong Ishpeming resident and a graduate of the Ishpeming High School. Dale served in the United States Army as a MP, entering the service in April of 1963 and being honorably discharged in April of 1966. He was a Union Pipefitter for the Upper Peninsula Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local #111.

Dale was a longtime ski jumper and member of the Ishpeming Ski Club. He volunteered countless hours to make sure the local Ski Jumping Tournament was held at Suicide Hill, along with working as a judge for Ski Jumping Tournaments. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed teaching motorcycle and hunter safety classes. Dale also worked with the Search and Rescue division of the Marquette Co. Sheriffs Dept. for many years, along with driving bus for the Ishpeming School district. He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Survivors include an aunt Loraine St. Onge, 3 nephews Darrell Fredette and Dave Cherry both of Cudahy, WI and Ed Cherry of South Milwaukee, WI, cousins Jean and Jean Marie Dagesse along with grand nieces.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister Gail M. Fredette on July 27, 2013 and another sister Pauline (Fredette) Acevedo.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:30 2:30 pm on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Fr. Larry VanDamme to officiate. The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #380 will accord Military Honors at the conclusion of the services. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
