Susie Levina Ahola

She was born in Dafter, Michigan on May 23, 1924 to William and Isabelle (Crawford) Cryderman. Susie spent her life taking care of her family and being a wonderful homemaker. She loved to bake and can food and had an exceptional green thumb. Many happy times were spent picking blueberries, crab apples, and strawberries, turning these into pies, jams and jellies. Her home and yard showed the rewards of her green thumb with her yearly petunias and special trees planted, especially blue spruce trees. Susie also enjoyed many years of successful deer hunting with her family. She remained above all else a most loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Surviving Susie Ahola are her son Dennis (Sandy) Ahola of Otisville, Michigan, daughter Lavada Lapolla of Rochester Hills, Michigan, grandchildren; Shannon (Dexter) Meeks of Savannah, Georgia, Derek (Tracy) Ahola of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Brady (Shaina) Ahola of Davison, Michigan, Susie (Sean) O’Brien of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Jonathan Lapolla of Rochester Hills, Michigan, great grandchildren; Lexi Nicole, Jace, and Emery.

Susie Ahola was preceded in death by her husband, Urho Emil Ahola in 2005, her brothers Clark and Thomas Cryderman, and sisters, Isabelle Carley, Nellie McLean, Lavada White, and Fern DeRoche.

Visitation and funeral will be held at Hovie Funeral Home, Sault Ste. Marie, MI on Saturday February 28, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. and from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. at Hovie Funeral Home on Saturday February 28, 2015 officiated by Sandy Ahola. There will be a meal following. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Kinross, Michigan at a later date.
