Gov. Whitmer names Negaunee resident to top state board

NEGAUNEE — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced appointments to a variety of boards and commission this week.  Rachael Prusi, of Negaunee, a licensed pharmacist and director of medical pharmacy strategy at Prime Therapeutics, was named to the Michigan Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. The committee advises the Department of Health and Human Services on issues affecting prescription drug coverage for its various health care programs. VFW contest winners announced

ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming VFW Post 4573 announces the winners of the Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen winners for 2025. Matthew Ostola from Westwood High School took first, Janelle Seelen from Ishpeming High School took second and Aaron Bressette from Westwood High School took third. Ostola is eligible to compete in the district. Lillian Karnack from Ishpeming Elementary took first place in the Patriot Pen essay competition. The Voice of Democracy is for high school age students and Patriot Pen is for seventh and eighth grade youth.
