MSHS presents ‘Hadestown’
Marquette Senior High School presents the folk opera 'Hadestown.' The shows are as follows: at 7 p.m. Friday, at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Kaufman Auditorium. Prices are adults, $20, students 18 and under, $15, and seniors, $15. Published in 2019, "Hadestown" is the retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, who are struggling in poverty. It also tells the story of King Hades and Persophone, whose relationship mirrors the world's harshness. The show features an onstage band, a narrator, three Fates and a large chorus/ensemble. More than 50 MSHS students are involved in the production. In the photo are Three Fates singing "Chips are Down" to Eurydice (Skyler Eisele). Standing, from left, are Avonlea Kuhlman, Marin Johnson and Emily Janowski. (Courtesy photo)
