MARQUETTE – U.S. Marine Corps Pvt. Jonathan Trombley and Pvt. 1st Class Jacob Peterson recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego.

The son of Tim and Barbara Trombley of Chatham, Trombley is a 2014 graduate of Superior Central High School.

Peterson is the son of John Peterson of Marquette and Anne Marie Peterson of Ishpeming, and is a 2014 graduate of Ishpeming High School.

In addition to a physical conditioning program, Trombley and Peterson spent numerous hours in classroom and field assignments that included learning first-aid, uniform regulations, combat water survival, marksmanship, hand-to-hand combat and assorted weapons training.
