Negaunee native Scott Etelamaki of Grayling was recently promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Michigan National Guard. Etelamaki is shown receiving a new rank patch from his son Eric accompanied by his wife and daughters during a promotion ceremony held recently at the Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center in downstate Grayling. He serves in Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment at Camp Grayling as the director of public works. Etelamaki and his wife Lisa have four children: Brittany and Brooke, both 23; Adalyn, 20; and Eric,13. He is the son of David Etelamaki and Sandra Etelamaki, and the son-in-law of Thomas and Liz Peters, all of Ishpeming.
