HOUGHTON — April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This is a time for advocates, survivors, their loved ones, and communities to come together to talk openly about sexual violence to support survivors, increase knowledge and awareness, and identify strategies and resources to prevent sexual violence, the Office of Family Violence Prevention and Services website states. Seaplane base hits permitting issue with dock

HUBBELL — The state is working with the owner of the new Isle Royale Seaplanes site to reach a solution after a dock permit issued last year was found to have been for the wrong category. The business announced in March it would be relocating to Hubbell this year after its lease at its previous site in Ripley had expired. Little Brothers celebrates Easter

HANCOCK — The Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly brought people together for an Easter dinner that over time has become a sort of family reunion. About 50 elders attended Saturday’s dinner in Hancock, said lead volunteer Emily Dekker-Fiala. About an equal number of volunteers contributed Sunday, starting in the morning and continuing through cleanup after the meal.
