– Dylan Curtis Brown, 19, 307 E. Truman St., Newberry – May 1, controlled substance possession of marijuana: 45 days jail deferred, driver’s license suspended for 180, can drive with restrictions after 30 days, 12 months probation, $1,130 pay or jail.

– Andrew Steven Juchemich, 27, 1075 School Street, Ishpeming – May 14, operating while intoxicated second offense notice, attempted resist and/or obstruct officer: 20 days jail with credit for 10 days served, 24 months probation, vehicle immobilized for 90 days, $3,110 pay or jail.

– Reava Mae Black, 20, 148 Dana Lane, Marquette – May 15, controlled substance possession of marijuana: 180 days jail deferred, license suspended for 365 days, can drive with restrictions after 60 days, 18 months probation, $1,602.26 pay or jail.

– Daniel James Venuto, 22, 2357 24th St., Queens, New York – May 15, controlled substance possession of marijuana: 180 days jail deferred, driver’s license suspended 180 days, can drive with restrictions after 30 days, 12 months probation, $1,105 pay or jail.

– Jennifer Lynn Schwark, 32, 416 Stratofort St., Gwinn – May 15, medical marijuana improper transportation in vehicle: six hours community service, six months probation, $665 pay or jai.

– Kerry Vaughn Munter, 67, 1303 Ryan Ave. Apt. 7, Marquette – May 15, operating while impaired by alcohol: six months probation, $1065 pay or jail.

– Harley Joseph Crago, 25, 1005 W. Ridge St., Apt. 31, Marquette – May 15, malicious destruction of building of $200 or more but less than $1,000, assault and battery: 180 days jail deferred, 12 months probation, $2,005 pay or jail.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for arraignment April 25, 2014:

– John Arnold Whitney, 50, of 338 Skybolt in Gwinn pleaded guilty to one count of attempted weapons – firearms – larceny, a two-and-a-half year felony. The charge stems from a Feb. 18 incident in Forsyth Township. Whitney was scheduled to be sentenced June 13.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 21, 2014:

– Jason David Sadowski, 44, of 112 Cleveland Ave. in Ishpeming was sentenced to serve between 40 and 80 years in prison with credit for 293 days served and ordered to pay fines and costs of $606. Sadowski was found guilty by a jury March 4 of one count of homicide – solicitation, two counts of torture, two counts of unlawful imprisonment and two counts of assault with intent to do bodily harm less than murder.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 24, 2014:

– Anthony D. Arrington, 36, of Marquette Branch Prison was sentenced to serve between one and two-and-a-half years in prison and ordered to pay fines and costs of $198. Arrington pleaded no contest march 18 to one count of attempted prisoner possessing weapons.

– John Wayne Mathews, 45, of 310 E. North St. in Ishpeming was sentenced to serve between four and seven-and-a-half years in prison with credit for 258 days served and ordered to pay fines and costs of $198. Mathews pleaded no contest March 28 to one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct and was found guilty by the court of being a second offense habitual offender.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 25, 2014:

– Eric Allan Haanpaa, 30, of 247 Rock St. in Marquette was sentenced to serve between four years and three months and 20 years in prison with credit for 91 days served and ordered to pay fines and costs of $266. Haanpaa pleaded guilty March 21 to one count of controlled substance – delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine and one count of controlled substance – operating/maintaining a laboratory near specified places.

– Jesse Paul Homa, 26, of 2209 Longyear Ave. in Marquette was sentenced to serve 360 days jail with credit for 61 days served, given 24 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $798. Homa pleaded guilty March 21 to one count of carrying concealed a weapon and one count of domestic violence second offense.

– David Henry Vaughan Jr., 26, of 130 Sunnyside Estates in Ishpeming was sentenced to serve 360 days jail with credit for 15 days served, given 24 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $1,990.48. A total of 90 days jail was to be served up front with the balance of jail time deferred. Vaughan pleaded guilty March 14 to one count of larceny of $1,000 or more but less than $20,000.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for arraignment April 25, 2014:

– Joseph Carroll Beckwith, 28, of 5057 U.S. highway 41 in Marquette pleaded guilty to one count of attempted sex offender – failure to comply with registration act, a 2-year misdemeanor. The charge stems from a March 26 incident in Chocolay Township. Beckwith was scheduled to be sentenced May 23.

– Michelle Lynn Perry, 29, of 711 N. Front St. Apt. A in Marquette pleaded no contest to one count of second degree home invasion, a 15-year felony. The charge stems from a Dec. 23 incident in the city of Marquette. Perry was scheduled to be sentenced June 6.

– Ryan Joseph Rogers, 32, of 105 Queen Road, Apt. 1 in Negaunee pleaded guilty to one count of controlled substance – possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy, a 10-year felony. The charge stems from a Dec. 21 incident in Negaunee Township. Rogers was scheduled to be sentenced June 13.

MARQUETTE CIRCUIT COURT

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 10, 2014:

– Glen Louis Pittman, 30, 104 Wilson Lake in Skandia was sentenced to serve 270 days jail with credit for 43 days served, given 24 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of &48. The balance of the jail time was deferred. Pittman pleaded guilty March 5 to one count of first degree retail fraud.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for arraignment April 11, 2014:

– Michael Paul Hill, 31 of 474 Green Garden Road in Marquette pleaded guilty to one count of police officer-fleeing-fourth degree-vehicle code, a two-year felony. The charge stems from a March 14 incident in Chocolay Township. Hill was scheduled to be sentenced May 23.

– Branden Steven Holm, 28, of 429 E. High St. No. 2 in Ishpeming pleaded guilty to one count of controlled substance-operating/maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine, a 20-year felony. The charge stems from a Feb. 12 incident in the city of Ishpeming. Holm was scheduled to be sentenced May 9.

– Corey Miller, 24, of 401 Excelsior in Ishpeming pleaded no contest to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, a four-year felony. The charge stems from a Feb. 16 incident in the city of Ishpeming. Miller was scheduled to be sentenced May 16.

– Jared Allen Quinnell, 17, of 3090 County Road 476 in Ishpeming pleaded guilty to attempted forgery, a five-year felony. The charge stems from a Feb. 12 incident in the city of Ishpeming. Quinnell was scheduled to be sentenced May 16.

– Declan Cai Williams, 18, of 111 West Hall, Northern Michigan University in Marquette pleaded guilty to weapons-dangers weapons, a five-year felony. The charge stems from a Feb. 15 incident in the city of Marquette. Williams was scheduled to be sentenced May 16.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 16, 2014:

– Leeanna Christy Streeter, 33, of 611 Northland Drive in Marquette was sentenced to serve 360 days jail with credit for two days served, given 24 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $748. Streeter’s drivers license was suspended for 60 days then restricted for 300 days. The balance of the jail time was deferred. Streeter pleaded guilty March 19 to one count of controlled substance – possession of methamphetamine.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 21, 2014:

– Charles Leroy Cope, 66, of 112 Cleveland Ave. in Ishpeming was sentenced to serve between 25 and 40 years in prison with credit for 293 days served and ordered to pay fines and costs of $402. Cope was found guilty by a jury March 4 of two counts of torture and two counts of unlawful imprisonment.

– Jodi Lee Storms, 24, 292 Abrahams Road, Skandia – May 1, false report of misdemeanor: three house community service, three months probation, $370 pay or jail.

– Gerald Alan Shorkey, 44, 311 W. Hampton St., Marquette – May 1, domestic violence: 12 hours community service work, 12 months probation, $1,130 pay or jail.

– Crystal Rae Larson, 31, 205 Vine St., Ishpeming – May 1, failure to report accident: 60 days jail with credit for 10 days served, balance of jail time deferred, make a written report of apology to victim, 12 months probation, $790 pay or jail.

– Gregory Allan Souza, 48, 813 Grove St., Marquette – May 1, operating while intoxicated: 30 days jail with credit for two days served, balance of jail time deferred, 12 months probation, $1,480 pay or jail.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 10, 2014:

– Deron D. Lee, 26, of Marquette Branch Prison, was sentenced to serve between one and two-and-a-half years in prison and ordered to pay fines and costs of $198. Lee pleaded guilty Feb. 27 to one count of attempted prisoner possessing weapons.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 11, 2014:

– Bradley Charles Nault, 22, of 305 Maple St. in Ishpeming was sentenced to serve 360 days jail with credit for 77 days served, given 60 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $348. Nault pleaded guilty March 14 to one count of children – accosting for immoral purposes.

– Gregory Edward Aldrich, 45, of 4414 Eagle St. in Gwinn was sentenced to serve 120 days jail with credit for 16 days served, given 12 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $1,248. Aldrich pleaded guilty March 14 to one count of operating while intoxicated/operating under the influence of liquor third offense.

– Nicole Rae Beaudette, 34, of 195 Midway Drive #2 in Negaunee was sentenced to serve 120 days jail with credit for 31 days served, given 12 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $2,7307. Beaudette pleaded guilty March 14 to one count of larceny in a building.
