MARQUETTE — Paulita Korby of Marquette was thrilled when she told her husband Darryl they had matched nine numbers and reaped $2,500 in the Michigan Lottery’s new Keno game. But she read the numbers again and her husband found an error. “Gee, honey,” her husband said, “you missed No. 66 on the ticket.” That extra number added up to the grand prize of $250,000. “He couldn’t believe it,” Paulita Korby said, “and I started to cry.” The Korby’s will pick up their check, less taxes, at the Michigan State Lottery office in Marquette Thursday morning. Paulita Korby said the win is just starting to sink in and that the couple doesn’t have any plans yet, except the purchase of a new vehicle. Paulita is a secretery at Snowberry Heights and Darryl drives a truck for Our Own Bakeries.
