HARVEY – It was erroneously reported to The Mining Journal Friday, that Miss Anna Lawrence, who sustained burns about the legs when she attempted to extinguish a fire in the schoolhouse at Harvey that morning, had received medical attention at St. Mary’s hospital and returned to her home shortly afterwards. Miss Lawrence is confined in St. Luke’s hospital and although her condition is not serious, she will remain there about 10 days, it is reported. Both legs were painfully scalded when enveloped in steam. It also was reported that Miss Lawrence threw a pail of water onto the stove, which had exploded because of gas. In the hospital Saturday, the school teacher said she threw the water on live coals which were thrown out on the floor when the door of the stove was blown open.
