MARQUETTE — A 1929 Mural at Kaufman Auditorium has seen better days and the Marquette school board is considering a plan to restore it to its original state.

The board is scheduled to meet at the auditorium at 5:30 this afternoon to hear a restoration plan from Burdco, a Traverse City paint and restoration firm. Superintendent Tom Gill said board members also are expected to discuss further renovations of the auditorium, including work on the seats, sound system, and curtains.

The school district asked for bids in the fall to repaint the auditorium at Graveraet Middle School, and Burdco submitted a separate bid to work on the mural.
