MARQUETTE — Red Baron Pizza Service of Marshall, Minn., will donate five cents to the Boy Scouts of America for every Red Baron frozen pizza sold in a Marquette grocery store from Monday through Sept. 10. In similar fundraisers during the last 10 years, Red Baron has donated a total of $305,000 to various youth groups and organizations. To highlight the fundraiser, Red Baron’s squadron of antique, red-and-white, open-cockpit biplanes will visit Marquette County Airport on Sept. 9. They’ll fly over Marquette in formation and perform aerobatic maneuvers. Selected Marquette-area vendors of Red Baron pizzas will be offered rides in the planes. Those eligible for rides will be notified by the Red Baron regional office.

ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming American Legion’s Drum and Bugle Corps will give a Labor Day performance in Rock, and a regular rehearsal will be held before the event, Thursday evening at 6:30. All corps members will reheard. At 7:30 parents of all members will attend a special meeting at the American Legion clubrooms. Immediate and future plans will be discussed. This will be a very important meeting, a spokesman for the corps said today, urging all parents to be present.
