MARQUETTE — Angela Lyn Wennerberg, daughter of Jon and Jeanne Wennerberg will be competing for Miss Teen of Michigan at the state pageant in Saginaw July 22 and 23. Miss Teen of Michigan will receive a $2,500 scholarship to the university of her choice and an all expense paid trip to the Hiawaiian Islands for the Miss Teen America pageant and the chance to share in more than $200,000 in cash scholarship and merchandise awards. Wennerberg is sponsored in the pageant by Boardwalk Boutique, Tourville North Apartments, Nyquist Jewelers, Thill’s Fishery, Marquette Catholic Credit Union, Four Seasons Photo, Forsberg Flowers, Angeli’s Carousel Flowers, Wintergreen Natural Foods, Love Notes, and Interiors by Design.

MARQUETTE — The baby clinic conducted in the health department office in the city hall seemed to be based on a question of high quality, even if not so many in quantity. Nine babies were present and, of these, four scored 100 percent. The four “peaches” were Alice Johnson from Munising; Richard Stebers, South Third Street; Robert Huff, Division Street; and Dorothy Shaw, Baraga Avenue. Francis Rose, Presque Isle, was marked 99.5 percent.
