3 injured in west end crash
ISHPEMING — The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle crash that took place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at U.S. 41 and Marquette County Road 496 in Ely Township. Several people sustained injuries, deputies said.
According to a sheriff’s department press release, a vehicle driven by an 82-year-old Ishpeming man failed to yield to the other vehicle involved which was on the highway at the time. The occupants of the other vehicle were transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries sustained.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Negaunee Police Department, the Michigan State Police, the Ishpeming Township Fire Department, UPHS ambulance service and Anttila’s Towing.
The investigation continues.
