Kids trapper workshop planned

Plans are being finalized for the 21st Young Trappers Workshop in Hermansville. Last year’s event stirred up enough excitement that District 3 of the Upper Peninsula Trappers Association isn’t going to change things up much this year. As always, it is being held on the first Saturday of February, Feb. 7, at the Community Center in Hermansville Michigan. Doors will open at 8 a.m. (CT) and the event should be done around three in the afternoon. The planners are gathering prizes that will be given to the youngsters at no charge. The demonstrators are working on their presentations so that the youngsters and the adults can absorb enough knowledge to become safe, ethical, humane, and successful trappers: How and where to find the target animals, identifying tracks and other “signs,” the necessary equipment, types of traps, various proven “sets,” and more.
