Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee awards set
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee will hold its 21st Annual Community Awards Luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Marquette Holiday Inn.
Twelve awards will be given: Appreciation Award, Pioneer Quick Lube, John Menor, 1551 W. Washington St.; Sally Closser, Green Spirit Award, Marquette Food Co-op, Matt Gougeon, 502 W. Washington St.; Barbara H. Kelly Historic Preservation Award, Harborview Trauma and Anxiety Recovery Center, Lottie Kohtala, 414 S. Front St.; Great Upper Peninsula Neighbor Award, Community Foundation of Marquette County, Zosia Eppensteiner, CEO 228 W. Washington St.; Lifetime Achievement Award, Jill LaMere and Shan Marlette, 710 Horizons Drive; Barbara H. Kelly Historic Preservation Award, Base Hospitality Group, Explore Boutique Hotel, Josh Paquette and Charlie Holsworth, 136 W. Baraga Ave.; Sally Closser Green Spirit Award, Moxie Moms, gardens at the corner of Spring and Fifth streets; Phil Niemisto Volunteer Award, Gary Bell, 1201 Tierney St.; Sally Closser Green Spirit Award, Citizens for a Safe and Clean Lake Superior, President Dennis Ferraro; Appreciation Award, Highbridge Group, Joe O’Dovero and John O’Dovero, water assistance and construction at Ellie’s Garden, Fourth and Washington Streets; and Sue Tollefson for 20 years as the MBRC membership chair.
The cost is $28 for the luncheon, which will include pork tenderloin, red skin potatoes, salad, vegetable, dessert and beverage. Please contact MBRC Vice President Barb Kelly at 906-869-0794 to reserve a spot. Seats will be limited.
