Marquette Maritime Museum receives grant

MARQUETTE — The America250MI Committee has awarded the Marquette Maritime Museum $3,926 as a part of the first round of the America250MI History Grant Program.

The funds will purchase three exhibit kiosks, iPads and kiosk software to update our shipwreck, Life-Saving Service, and Lighthouse exhibits. The kiosks give us an opportunity to display more of our historic photographs and videos, and they add an interactive educational element to the museum’s guest experience.

The America250MI History Grant Program is supporting projects across the state that help preserve and share Michigan’s history in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Spearheaded by the Historical Society of Michigan and the Michigan History Center, this initiative commemorates the American Revolution’s enduring impact on our state and its people. The Marquette Maritime Museumn is grateful to America250MI for helping them to support our mission of protecting, preserving, and interpreting the maritime history of Marquette, Lake Superior and all the Great Lakes.

Starting at $3.23/week.
