Program on drinking water set

MARQUETTE — At 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, Dr. Michael Broadway, professor emeritus at Northern Michigan University, will present an overview of drinking water issues facing the global community.

It is the part of the launching of the phase of a second Interfaith Water Stewards Initiative which finds its origin in the historic collaborative work of the Earthkeepers in the Upper Peninsula during 2004-2014

The event will take place at Messiah Lutheran Church, 305 W. Magnetic St., in Marquette. Representatives from a variety of faith traditions are collaboratively beginning a two-year initiative to help protect and ensure good quality drinking water here in the Northern Great Lakes Basin.

Michael Waite, songwriter and folk musician, will frame the evening with “Songs to Bless the Water.”
