ISHPEMING — A bear reported last week in Frenchtown Location has not been back since. At least, if it has, he has kept out of sight. The animal was seen by Mrs. Arthur Nault, Saginaw St., standing near the doghouse in her yard. A few minutes later, two girls walking toward National Mine came running to the Nault home and reported they met a bear–probably the same animal–on the highway. This was not the first time the Naults have had a bear in their backyard. One day last year, early in the morning, a motorist spotted a bear standing near the children’s playhouse. Hunters report there are a lot of bear signs south of Salisbury Location, to the southeast, between there and National Mine, where the animals have been feeding around old apple trees.
