GINCC fundraisers now online

NEGAUNEE — The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce and Negaunee Lions Club — in looking for new ways to encourage shopping local, supporting the community and small business in the wake of COVID-19 — have moved their current fundraiser to an online format.

This new online format ensures GINCC remains in compliance with CDC and social distancing guidelines, while still raising funds. There’s only 10 days left to buy tickets.

To support the GINCC and Negaunee Lions Club, consider purchasing a Teal Lake Meltdown Ticket online here: https://form.jotform.com/200639111490144.

Participants can try their luck to guess the exact time the structure (mining head frame) will drop out of sight through the ice on Teal Lake. The participant who has the closest guess, down to the minute, will win 50% of net ticket proceeds or $500 (whichever is larger). One guess per ticket is allowed. In the case of a tie, the winner will be the first date of ticket sale.

In 2017, the headframe sunk at April 9 at 3 a.m., and sunk in 2019 on April 26 at noon.

Ticket sales will end on April 1 AND the winning ticket must be purchased and submitted at least two full days prior to the sinking of the head frame.
