Plein Air Painting Festival

Artist Donna Budzenski of Marquette starts a painting at Presque Isle Park for the Plein Air Painting Festival All-Day Paint Competitiion Saturday afternoon. Participating artist had the choice of painting any scene within the city of Marquette. Paintings had to be created outdoors, on-site, and had to illustrate or be inspired by real-life scenes of the area. The festivities concluded with a reception and art showing at the Presque Isle Pavillion Saturday evening. Over $2,500 in cash prizes were awared. (Journal photo by Corey Kelly)
