Superheroes on the Run today

MARQUETTE — On Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing through 1 p.m., the Superior Arts Youth Theater will be hosting “Superheroes on the Run” in Marquette. Events will include a kids 1-mile run, a 5k run and a 10k run on the multi-use path.

The runs begin at Lakeview Arena and head north along the multi-use path adjacent to Lakeshore Boulevard toward Presque Isle Park. The 1-mile run will turn around before the intersection with Wright Street. 5k runners will turn around near the Dead River Bridge. The 10k race continues to and around Presque Isle before returning. Returning runners will use the multi-use path along Pine Street and finish west of Lakeview Arena.

No roads will be closed, however the public is asked to be aware of pedestrians crossing the streets.

Reward offered for burglary info

ARNOLD — The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects who burglarized the U.S. Postal Service Contract Postal Unit, located inside Lapalme Country Corner store at 42904 Marquette County Road 426 in Arnold.

The CPU and Lapalme were burglarized between 5 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the USPIS at 877-876-2455, selecting option 2, or the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office at 906-225-8470. All information will be kept confidential.
