ISHPEMING — The city of Ishpeming invites residents and visitors to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary on Saturday with a full day of patriotic festivities, family-friendly activities and community traditions, a press release stated. Distressed swimmers rescued in Bay Mills

BAY MILLS — The Bay Mills Police Department released a statement that detailed a rescue that occurred on Saturday. “We had an emergency where several swimmers, including kids and an adult, who were in distress in Lake Superior (St. Mary's River system),” read the statement. “Officers Weist, Goetz and Curtis arrived on scene and immediately jumped in and swam to assist them.
