MARQUETTE — This year, Jandron’s Fine Jewelry is celebrating 37 years in business, as well as 10 years at the Jandron Retail Center on Marquette County Road HQ. The family-owned business has been open since 1989 and both sells and repairs jewelry and watches.

Since opening in 1989, the business has been transferred from Neil and Kathie Jandron to their daughters Tia Arntsen and Tammy Jandron. Tia is one of the store managers and Tammy is the main bench jeweler. Arntsen’s husband, Jon Arntsen, joined the business in 1996; first as a bench jeweler, then shifting into a general manager position, a position he has held for over 25 years.

“Over the years, Jandrons has been blessed with employees that feel more like family, many who have been with us for 25-30 years,” said Tia Arntsen.

Now, the third generation of Jandron women is on the scene, as Tia Arntsen and Tammy Jandron’s daughters have begun taking on a larger role in store operations.

“Jandrons is thrilled to have another generation of daughters contributing to the success of their family business,” said Tia Arntsen. “Over the last 10 years, my daughter, Olivia, worked part-time while attending NMU’s nursing program, and although she now works full-time as a nurse, Olivia continues to help out during the busy holiday season.

“In 2020, Tammy’s daughter, Arlie, also joined the family business. Very quickly she displayed a love for jewelry, a knack for selling and an enthusiasm for learning and working — so much so that she began courses through the Gemological Institute of America, and will soon be a Graduate Diamonds Professional.

“Tammy’s youngest daughter, Maris, has also shown an interest in the business, preferring to take a more behind-the-scenes role; an equally important responsibility that allows our business to remain organized, well-stocked and equipped to keep up with the high volume of customers that we serve.”

Jandons consistently wins the title of Marquette’s Best Jewelry Store

and was the 2025 Mining Journal Best of the Best Best Jewelry Store.

“Jandrons Fine Jewelry’s future continues to look bright!” said Tia Arntsen. “The Jandron family is very proud to have three generations of women carrying on the success of our family business!

“For us, being a woman in business has provided a unique work/life balance. We juggle a lot of roles and responsibilities, typically investing many extra hours into our business, than a lot of your traditional 8-5 jobs. However, there’s a feeling of wanting to do it, as the commitment that you feel working for a business that you helped start, is completely different than working for a larger corporation.

“Working for a family business also meant that when we started our families, we were not only encouraged to work less, but we also had some flexibility to work from home. As a family business, all throughout the year, we get to feel the joy that comes with giving back to our community…a community that has loyally supported us since we opened in 1989. Our customers’ trust, loyalty and friendships are the reason for our success, and why customer service remains our priority. Jandron’s follows the same business model that we began with — instead of offering high mark-ups coupled with “sales“, we chose to offer fair everyday pricing, along with great customer service!”
