ISHPEMING — The city of Ishpeming has issued an update regarding work on the upcoming skate park.

“City staff are certainly disappointed to see this lot still waiting vacantly and we wanted to take a moment to give a brief update, apologize for the lengthened timeline, and ensure residents that the skate park is still anticipated to reach completion in 2025 after several external project delays,” reads a post on the city’s Facebook page. “At this time, crews are expected to arrive in October to begin work and are anticipating on wrapping up in November.

The city also said to be on the lookout for details about an opening celebration in 2026. As far as this fall, residents will be welcome to enjoy the park upon completion if weather allows.
