ISHPEMING – Marquette County skaters have something to look forward to this summer, as a new skate park will be under construction in the city of Ishpeming. The skate park should be finished by the end of summer, but specifically when construction will start is unknown.

“Monetarily speaking, the skatepark is a culmination of grant funding, public improvement millage, and contributions from the Ishpeming DDA as well as private sources,” said the city of Ishpeming in a public release. “The completion of this project will represent years of input, support, fundraising efforts and civil engagement from many different groups of people. We cannot wait to see it become a community space for all to enjoy. Be on the lookout for construction updates as the season “ramps” up.”
