Dark side of the moon

Students on Northern Michigan University’s campus in Marquette gather Monday to catch a glimpse of the solar eclipse. Monday’s eclipse will be the last one visible in the United States until August 2044. The most recent eclipse visible in the U.S. took place in 2017, with a nearly 40-year gap before that, with the previous eclipse coming in 1979. (Journal photo by Alexandria Bournonville)
